Save the trip to the dealer- use a salvaged APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) to enable your MyFord Touch screen to have NAVIGATION! OEM function, and absolutely legitimate.
Basically, all of our Ford Escapes have a GPS built in- if you have a roadside emergency, or want to look up your location in the “Information” section of MFT, you will still find that the car has a GPS coordination, or triangulation.
The APIM is the key to utilizing that hardware. The higher trim models have the feature unlocked, so if you can obtain a salvaged APIM from a higher model, you can UPGRADE YOUR MFT!

You can find APIM’s on eBay, the above forum, etc.
It’s a good workaround and can save you hundreds from going to the dealer.
***JUST MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY. You don’t want anything to short out during this process.
