Here is my Homemade incubator with automatic motor. I got the idea from another video on YouTube. Most of the material I got from the Hardware Store, Wal-Mart/Goodwill and the dollar store. The dimensions are your specifications. Any questions feel free to leave a comment.
Also:
Make sure you don’t mount the fan directly against the wall or else it wont be able to pull in air. Mount it with a little space in between the fan and all, also direct the fan towards the light bulb, this way the heat is blowing towards the thermostat
I forgot to mentioned I drilled 6 vent holes on two sides to allow more circulation. I covered one side of the vent holes to increase humidity.
Updates after my first hatch:
- I’m going to add mesh wire under the tray, I had chicks legs sliding through and getting stuck.
- After thinking about it next time, I’m going to shave off 4-6 inches off the top. I found it to be too high/bulky for a counter or table. And I’m might go to lower watt bulb, the one I used in the video is 90 watt
- I’m going to add a secondary light inside with an exterior on and off switch. So I can check the eggs and the chicks after they hatch without having to open the cover.
