Ford Lincoln Mercury EATC Repair Video – In Depth Tutorial – 3.00 Dollars in Parts



Plagued with your Ford EATC blowing air out of the defrost no matter what mode you set it too? This tutorial is for you. The Demo car is a 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis LS with the Ford EATC.

This is applicable to several Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Models through the years of 1992 – 1995 (Soft Button Units) and 1996 – 2011 (Hard Button Units).

Some Cars I know this procedure is compatible with (Note: Some Ford EATC Units have a metal support bracket, in which may require alternative methods of repair):

An In-Depth Tutorial of the Removal of the Ford EATC Unit from a Mercury Grand Marquis, Dis-assembly of the Ford EATC Unit, replacement of the O-Rings within the vacuum solenoids, Reassembly of Ford EATC Unit, re-install back into the Mercury Grand Marquis and Test Run. Parts and Tools needed:

- Ratchet with 7 mm or 9/32 Socket (Removal of EATC)
- Small Flat bladed screwdriver (Removal of Solenoid Chambers)
- Needle nose Pliers (To bend tabs up on EATC solenoids)
- Screwdriver with interchangeable bits (a Torx T-15 and Phillips)

Parts:

- 5 or More O-Rings (O’Reilly Auto: NAT-007 or McMaster Carr: 9396K12 007) O-Ring Size: ID 5/32″ OD: 9/32 1/16″ Thickness
- Die Electric Grease (One Packet is sufficient)
