1. Operation Principle
The Thermostatic Wax that has been sealed in shell body induces expansion by a given temperature, and inner rubber seal part drives its handspike to move under expansion pressure to realize a transition from thermal energy into mechanical energy. The Thermostatic Wax brings an upward movement to its handspike, and automatic control of various function are realized by use of upward movement of handspike. The return of handspike is accomplished by negative load in a given returned temperature.
2. Characteristic

3.Main Technical Parameters
(1)Handspike’s height may be confirmed by drawing and technical parameters
(2)Handspike movement is relatives to the temperature range of the element, and the effective distance range is from 1.5mm to 20 mm.
(3)Temperature control range of thermal wax actuator is between –20 ~ 230℃.
(4)Lag phenomenon is generally 1 ~ 2℃. Friction of each component part and lag of the component part temperature cause a lag phenomenon. Because there is a difference between up and down curve of traveling distance.
(5)Loading force of thermal wax actuator is difference, it depends on its’ shell size.

I’ve had several requests for an electric door lock or remote operated door lock so I decided to make a simple one using a cheap sliding bolt and an RC set-up using one servo.
You could just use the servo with a battery and a switch or button if you modify the servo by removing the circuit board inside. There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to do this.

I only used double sided tape for this demonstration.
In response to several requests I am giving the eBay listings used for my R/C equipment, but please understand I am not recommending these items to you for any special purpose. These are just the ones that I used. I would recommend you did your own search on eBay or Amazon or anywhere you like and make your own choice. In fact I would recommend you bought a simple 1 or 2 channel remote control relay unit designed for this sort of job which is much cheaper although you would need to modify the servo to make it work with DC voltage. Using a proper r/c transmitter is a waste of money for a door lock unless you intend to use it for planes or cars afterwards.

The battery pack is 4 AAA batteries in a holder that came from a small torch that I modified by adding a suitable plug to match the receiver.

You could follow the general flow of this video but the simple change is that you remove the circuit board entirely and connect your DC power supply directly to the motor via your switch so the servo drives your door bolt in and out continuously and you have to judge when it is locked or unlocked.

This is the control panel for the heater and air conditioner system.
Press THIS button and the system will automatically regulate and maintain fan speed, air flow, and temperature in the cabin.
If FAN SPEED, AIR FLOW MODE, or DEFROST settings are manually adjusted, the system will switch from AUTO mode to your control.
Push THIS button to manually set the desired temperature for each side of the vehicle. To switch the climate control system back to driver control, press the DUAL button again to the OFF position.
Press THIS button to select from the available air flow modes. THIS icon indicates air will flow from the defroster outlets. THE arrows indicate whether the center and side vents, or the foot outlets are active.
Press THIS button to recirculate air inside your vehicle. This increases A/C efficiency and helps to block outside odors.
Press again to draw in fresh outside air, improving your vehicle’s defogging performance.
Press and hold the air recirculation button to set the air intake to automatic. The indicator light will blink twice.
Press THIS button to manually turn the air conditioner ON or OFF.
In hot or humid conditions, a visible mist may be seen coming from the vents. This does not indicate a malfunction.
To defrost or defog front and side windows, press THIS button.
The indicator light on the A/C button may also illuminate because the A/C compressor is activated to help dry the air and improve window clearing performance. The air can still be fully warmed with the A/C activated.
To defrost or defog the rear window and the outside mirrors, push the REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER switch. The indicator light will illuminate. After defrosting, push the switch again to turn OFF. IF not turned OFF manually, this feature will automatically deactivate after a period of time.
For windshield deicing, set the temperature to maximum heat with the fan set to
HIGH.
There is a temperature sensor on top of the dashboard that regulates the automatic heater and air conditioner settings. Please keep this area clear of papers and other materials.
You can return to automatic control of the heater and air conditioner system at any time by pressing THIS button.
