1. Operation Principle

The Thermostatic Wax that has been sealed in shell body induces expansion by a given temperature, and inner rubber seal part drives its handspike to move under expansion pressure to realize a transition from thermal energy into mechanical energy. The Thermostatic Wax brings an upward movement to its handspike, and automatic control of various function are realized by use of upward movement of handspike. The return of handspike is accomplished by negative load in a given returned temperature.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks have got importance for monitoring and control of systems. We propose to design a system which includes real time wireless remote sensing and controlling of temperature. Variation in the temperature is recorded in the GUI (MatLab) and proper controlling action is taken. The choice of automatic as well as manual control will be added to the design. We are going to use an Arduino Uno (Atmega328) microcontroller to interface the digital temperature sensor DHT11, 2 Xbee modules (coordinator and router), & a relay. The data which we are going to take from the sensor will be recorded in MS-Excel for particular duration and after plotting the graph it will be flushed out. In this design we will define a fixed temperature level. When the system crosses that level, the functioning of the motor driver and alerting system will be initiated. We have decided to use Xbee because it has a wide range of communication and also it consumes less power.



    This is a rough tutorial put together for out final presentation in the PLC II class at University of Toledo. We had to use another camera at the PID tuning stage, as our main one died, so the sound quality gets very poor, but we hope this still helps someone out there.
