The characteristic of Thermostatic Wax consists of its volume expansion amount can reach up to 13 ~ 15 % when it is heated from solid to liquid. Replacing the coolant tank is pretty important because as the car ages the plastic becomes brittle and weak and it more likely to burst at the most inconvenient moment. there was also one hose I replaced while I had the tank off just because it would be a bitch to change afterwards without repeating the whole process.
the steps are remove the upper hose, there is a lower hose, drain radiator, there is a clip on the bottom you need to push down and slide out. once that is all done you need to pull the tank straight up and out. and that’s pretty much it
